tiny kindnesses

I had a MOTHER of a papercut this week. Totally unexpected, of course, very deep and made by more than a page of paper, but an edge of a thick notebook. OWIE!

Since I use my fingers so much in my job, a little thing like a papercut on my hand is a huge issue for a massage therapist. (along with low cost health insurance, but that's for another post)
The original cut itself is debiliatating, but imagine getting lotion in the cut, having the cut reopen and having to do it all again over the course of an hour. Such a nuisance.

But having to be cared for, brings in so many opportunities to bring out the kindness in people.

At work, my partner T put New Skin on the cut since that what she uses and she said that it works great. She disinfected my cut, put the medicine on and warned me that it would sting. Then she blew on it, just like my mom used to. So sweet.

Then that night, I was telling Chris what a bitch it was to work with my finger all messed up. He asked to see it. When I showed him, he said, "You need neosporin and to cover that up." He then got out of bed, got the ointment and a scooby doo band aid and wrapped my finger. So sweet.

And all this from a nasty papercut. Who would have known that it would have turned out so well.

Being a mom, we rarely get that kind of TLC --- I'm so glad people took care of you!!

Love you!

I cut my thumb the other day. It really is such a pain to deal with a sore on your hand.

Glad people took care of our Kari. :)

Oh those papercuts are the worst, file folders used to get me everytime. If I would have been there I would have done just what your hubby did, but I would have used a Disney Princess bandaid. :)

I think I remember another sweet band-aid story about him. (-:
