Old Fashioned Layered Salad

This is my signature dish. (not to be confused with my signature dessert which is pie) I love to eat it. I had it at a baby shower about 5 years ago and could not get it off of my mind. I had to recreate it in my own kitchen.

That being said, I wish that this wasn't my signature dish. It is time consuming and very involved. (Kind of like piano lessons)
And it doesn't look all that magnificent either, I mean, come on, it's a salad! My sister makes a pumpkin roll that looks very elegant as her signature dish and she swears that it is super simple. My recipe is the opposite. It looks super easy, but it's a bear to assemble. It honestly takes me hours. Someone more skilled in the kitchen could get it done faster, I'm sure, but for me, it really takes hours.

I may have posted this before, but here it is again. I'm gently easing myself back into this whole blogging business!

dressing:
1 C Mayo
1 C Miracle Whip
1 T milk
4T dried mustard
salt
pepper

Salad:
1 head iceberg, coarse chop
8 oz shredded swiss
10 oz pkg frozen peas
1/2 medium red onion minced
6 hard boiled eggs, chopped
1/2 lb smoked turkey, chopped
1 pkg bacon, cooked and chopped

Mix dressing

layer 1/3 lettuce, next 6 ingredients, then dressing. Repeat twice more.

* I make two salads out of this recipe. One for the get together, then one for home. Otherwise, this thing turns out HUGE!
