So I Bought Myself a Treat!

I bought myself this beautiful piece of art today! Yes, I know that it is an apron, but I love full length, vintage style aprons and want to start collecting. I eyed this one on ebay yesterday and couldn't stop thinking about it. So I bought it and have been corresponding with the artist all day, who is such a sweetheart! I can't wait to see her other creations as she is so talented.

Here is the seller's description of the apron:

What an adorable apron this turned out to be!!

A VINTAGE bubblegum PINK & white checked apron w/ black HAND-stitched cross-stitches is the main attraction of this charming apron. Pieces of ROSE fabrics (pink & red roses) have been cut out and zigzag stitched in several places. Sitting upon the one pocket is a cutesy lime-green & white tassel trim.

Along the pink & white ties is a VINTAGE turqoise gross-grain ribbon.

Added to the VINTAGE apron is the top with bull fighting sceens. Colors are turqoise, red, pink, gold, ivory and black. The reverse side of the top is a turqoise & silver stripe lining. There are 2 ties up top and 2 along the waist.

This apron would just about fit most people. The measurement from the waist to the bottom of the apron is 21"...it hits me at my knees.

This would make an adorable gift...or just a precious piece of vintage hanging on a hook in your kitchen! It can be washed on gentle cold cycle and line dried (due to the tassles...I don't suggest you dry this in your dryer!) It's a perfect shabby cottage apron!!!

Thank you for looking at this auction! I know you have many choices to bid on. Please e-mail me with any questions. Thank you!!!

The lining on the top is a turquoise with a silver metallic stripe. There is a ton of black cross stitch all over with the appliqued roses.

This is so my style! I can't wait to get it! What a joy to look forward to.
