I have so many blogs in my "favorite places" files. I don't even list close to 1/4 of them here, just because I like to list people that I have built some sort of relationship with and because I don't think that everyone likes to be linked. I always ask permission and I don't update as often as I should. There are a couple of you guys that I owe emails to asking to link to you. If I haven't yet linked and you would like me to, please leave me a comment and I'll get it finished.
My question from the subject line is about how you find new blogs to visit? For the most part, I just hit the "Next Blog" button. And then I get surprised, which I love. I found my friend Kelly that way and we are meant to be.
The other way that I find bloggers is through your guys' friends' lists. But sometimes I feel like I'm crashing a party or something. Isn't that weird? Kind of like I'm trying to butt into a circle of friends at a different table at the cafeteria!
Other blogs that I've came across are through the TT site. But I like having a connection, not just a thing like, "Great TT". I like comments, but genuine comments. Is that being picky?
So, a lot of questions! Since I'm new to blogging on a more public level, I'd appreciate any insights from all of you.
Thank you!

I have done all of the things you do. Another thing I've done a lot lately is joined StumbleUpon.Com. It's not just blogs. If I ever have a few moments to spare, I'll push the Stumble button on my Firefox web browser. It stumbles upon cool sites recommended by other people on subjects that I am interested in. It's cool. Many times that's where I get the sites from the Sunday entry.
I have my half-dozen or so favorites and rarely stray beyond them (-:

While sometimes I find new ones through other people's blogrolls, more often I click through to a new blog because the author commented on a blog that I already read. That's what brought me to yours today. ;)
I agree...I have had to pare my list down some. I always feel like I'm "letting them down" when I remove a blog from my "reads" list. Like they even know I existed. Hee hee. MG says I think I'm all that...Not really. I just have a heart for people.
I found you from TT, I think. And I agree about the "authentic" comments. But I have found some good friends. And when someone blogs and says "go check out my friend"...I've found some good reads that way.
Also through Christian Women Online blog ring. Some REALLY inspirational ladies on there!
Hi, Karianne! I suppose this would be a good time to leave a comment, although I've been meaning to lots of other times! :)
I found your blog because a friend of mine started blogging and I started blog-hopping from there. I would love to start a blog of my own, (and have actually tried a few entries, oh, they're sad) but the more I read.. ahhh, the more I see that I don't have 1/3 or what it takes. You all are so creative and write things out in such an interesting way!
(Okay, now I've taken up way too much comment space.. part of my problem is that I take 16 more words to express something I could express in, say 5 or 6. eh heh )
Anywho, it's nice to finally *meet* you, and I enjoy reading your blog.. please keep sharing!

i think hoping for genuine comments isn't just being picky! while i like getting lots of visits to my blog, the visits that mean the most are those that result in some kind of connection - like i have with you!
i'm pretty sure i first met you through TT. i meet quite a few people through various memes - but only some of them do i try to keep going back to. i don't think i've found someone that i've connected with through the random search method, but i have found friends through friends.
I find new blogs by making my way through the 'maze' of blogs. I started reading one blog about 2 years ago. One of my friend 'introduced' me to one. I didn't realize how vast the blog world was and stuck to that one blog for 2 years. One day I started clicking on the commenters names and going to their blogs, and I had my first experience of blog hopping from one blog to another. It was then that I found a couple that are my favorites to this day. I've never just clicked 'next'. I'm not that brave. heheh But I have clicked on blogrolls and have found a few good reads that way.
As for putting up my own list of blogs that I read, I don't have a ton that I read at this point, so most of the ones I read reguarly are up there. Also, I have a few friends who blog, and I put their blogs up.
I love blogrolls, even if they are long, because it gives me more sites to check out.
BTW, I wanted to put yours up on my site, is that okay?? :)
The more the merrier!!
I only have time to check a certain amount of blogs every day/every other day, or I would read endlessly (I love to read).
I usually like to click on comments on blogs I like. You can get a good feel for what kind of person they are by the comments people leave. I haven't done it much though, I can barely keep up with the blogs I have in blog lines.
