I'm Not A Bad Mom, Promise!

This morning I was talking to one of my clients at the spa. She was having me tell her the gifts that we have bought the kids this year.

A little bit of history here. Chris and I really aren't too into the gift giving/receiving scene. The kids' grandparents have a right to spoil them, we have a responsibility not to, is how we believe. So, we give the kids 3 gifts each. We aren't sure if they are from Santa yet or not, but the original idea was for the gifts to represent the 3 gifts from the wise men to baby Jesus.

So, I told her that we had bought Ivy the Candyland game dvd, a teaset, and an outfit. And then I stopped. And thought. And thought. I couldn't remember what we had bought for Bec. I called Chris on my break and asked him what we had bought for the baby. We couldn't think of ANYTHING!! Poor baby. He's getting the shaft! Thankfully, there are more days to make up for our oversight.

Looking in the utility room tonight over all of the "hidden" gifts, I did find a set of 3 cds that I purchased for him this week that have about 50 kids songs on them. Like Head and Shoulder, Knees and Toes; and I'm a Little Teapot and such. So, I'm really not a bad mom, I promise! I'm just glad that my client asked! Could you imagine my state of guilt on Christmas morning with that one?

I totally understand! I have this phobia that I'm going to get one more than the other. I've snuck into my bedroom closet twice to count and make sure each kid has 3 and there's something for each stocking, too. Last time I checked, AAaagh! Turn in my mommy license! I forgot something for the littlest one's stocking. THAT would have gone over like a lead balloon!
Like you said...at least we caught it in time. :D
Hope your holiday is wonderful! Thanks for posting the baby photo of Bec...he's a winner.

Teeny's not getting much in the present dept this year either. He doesn't know what a present is yet, first of all. Because of that, we decided instead to sponsor a child in Nazret where he is from. LL and I also gave each other a donation to AHOPE. No need to go shopping....just head on over to the websites....just some ideas for the stockings....
