Fancy Schmancy Grub

Here is an online photo of the restaurant where we had dinner yesterday. The food was amazing! Here is what we had:

Soup:
Butternut squash soup with creme freche and a tumeric seared tiger prawn from the Florida Keyes

Chris' entree:
Perfectly prepared Filet Mignon topped with sauteed mushrooms in a port wine sauce, grilled cauliflower with green beans and homemade pasta

Karianne's entree:
Rack of lamb with California raisins and Valley fruit compote, organic black rice souffle, green beans, grilled cauliflower. My lamb was a tad over done.

Dessert:
Bread pudding with eggnog creme, Ameretto flavored whip, drizzled with Bailey's white chocolate with a side of cranberry and apple. YUM! I'd say the best part of the meal.

We are still stuffed!

The house was insane. The original radiator heat and stuffed to bursting with antiques galore. Actually imagine bursting, then add in more stuff! I don't think that any surface had more than 1/4 of an inch of space in between any item. China everywhere. We counted 4 chandeliers from our table, double paned windows, original woodwork and built ins. Decorated for Christmas with italian caroles piped in. My parents made reservations again in January. The dining table and chairs that we were seated at used to belong to the original Dupont family.

Finally! Chris enjoyed his birthday! After 6 years of coaxing him into celebrating, he actually told me last night that he was excited to have his birthday. I'm going to chalk that up as a personal success!
