I'm so glad it's over!

And these kids are driving me crazy. Actually, it is Bec's turn tonight as Ivy is being a sweetie. This kid is 2!!! Where is my baby?

Ah, I figured out that to complete my personal goal of reading/listening to at least 52 books a year, I have to finish 9 before January 1st. Can I do it? Any recommendations for some short books?

Tomorrow is Chris' birthday. I'll keep you posted on the festivities!

Have you gotten your copy of "Faces of Layla" yet? I think that should certainly count as one of your nine!

Nothing But the Truth by Avi is a children's book, but it's REALLY good. It's about a teen who tells a white lie and it gets blown out of proportion. I believe it's a Newberry Award book. It's a fast read.

Another Avi book is called The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle. On the 4th of July my Aunt Lyn and I sat by the lake and read it. Very very good. It's a girl adventure tale. It's a little longer. We read nonstop and finished in 24 hrs time.

And I love the Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver. Every few years I read it again.

Good luck on the reading! I totally think you can do it! I'm proud that you only have 9 left!

Why do kids take turns being difficult? It's one of the mysteries I'm sure I"ll never figure out. Granted, it would be twice as horrible if two were acting accordingly at the same time, however think of the peace if they were both sweet and peaceful at the same time! Bliss!

Happy Birthday, Chris!

one short one i read earlier this year and really enjoyed was Gossamer by Lois Lowry. one of my all-time favorites is also a quick read: Small Change: The Secret Life of Penny Burford by J. Belinda Yandell.
