She's Real! In many ways

Melissa, Here's Your Rose

My dad loved yellow roses. Around our grandparent's house there were yellow rose bushes in the front yard, flanking the walkway. When Melissa and I were setting up our meeting, we discussed the movie, "You've Got Mail" and were going to bring flowers to each other to set us apart. But we knew each other right off and the flower was forgotten in the car.

We brought each other presents too. I got the incredible clutch that she shows on her blog (blue) which all of my clients and family are coveting at the moment. She brought presents for MY KIDS for their birthdays.

Ivy with her case, opening Bec's present too!

They both got custom pillowcases made by M and I'm probably going to steal them. Ivy's is a funky floral, while Bec's has the cutest green frogs all over it with the most intense greeen.

We first went to coffee and a joint that I've always wanted to try. You know, I wasn't nervous at all even before, just excited. The whole time, I kept thinking to myself, "Lord, K, shut up! Let her talk too!" I was just too excited to keep quiet! Then a wireless guy wanted to use the end of our table which made me uncomfortable, and we headed to lunch at one of my favorite places to eat.

My try at editing!

The time flew by when we were together. I can't believe all that we talked about and discovered in that amount of time, but it wasn't long enough! Tomorrow it will be one week since we met and it feels like forever since I've seen her! I can't wait to see her again. One of the best parts? She doesn't talk like a teacher, so I felt so comfortable!

Melissa, take a day off girlie! I need ya!

Have you heard me say it enough yet?? I'm JEALOUS!

But I am also so excited for you too, that good fortune allowed you two to live close enough together to meet!

You both look adorable in the photo! I'm so glad it was a great time!

*hugs* to you both, and thanks for indulging us w/ the photos!

Oh Karianne!
I love the pic of your kiddos opening their loot...probably thinkin' "what the heck is THIS?" :)

I was JUST thinking that it has been exactly one week, yet it seems like I've known you for much much longer.

Is it weird that I find your statement about me "not talking like a teacher" extremely complementary (sp??)?

I need to look at my calendar and see if/when we have a scheduled day off for classes---we're not required to attend, so perhaps another coffee date is i order!!

Nice try editing my devil eyes....it's futile, though. :)

Thank you for the flower....I also forgot to wear my orange scarf, which was in the back of my car....ah, well, I love that we wanted to be all You'veGotMail-ish! :)

Love to you!

What a wonderful post. I think it is fabulous that you ladies were able to get together for lunch. Envious, yes, quite envious, but joyful for you.

The picture is fabulous. I think you both look great. Fabulously happy too. The children are cutesy-poo as usual.

Thanks again for such a great post.
