MUCH Better

Hello to all of you in the land of the well. I finally feel better and have put in almost a full day today. I've been trying to be very careful about not setting myself back by trying to get right back into life. And boy, has it been hard!

Starting on Monday, I could tell that I had turned the corner. But you know how it is when you've been sick, and then you start to feel better and look around you? And all that you see is filth? And then you start to contemplate yourself and you think that you look and smell like filth? Yep. That was Monday for me. Everything was gross and dirty. I just went back to bed.

I was behind on laundry by a week even before I got sick. One of the switches went out in the washer and it wouldn't drain. I was just starting the process of catching up when I got blindsided by my germs. Dang germs!

I made a good dent in the laundry yesterday by washing all of the sheets, blankets, comforters in the house. I wanted those germs gone! I then bleach washed all of the dishes. At least 4 loads! It felt good to start digging out of the filth.

Today was the day that my friend came over to help with the housework. And I can't tell you what a huge difference it made. I found a housework cleaning checklist that has been really helpful. She vacuumed the living room and the throw rugs. I washed the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom rugs. She swept and mopped the entryway, the hallway, the bathroom and our bedroom. I cleaned and organized the top of the fridge. Cleaned the inside of the fridge. Windexed the screen door, attacked the cobwebs by the mailbox. I then tackled the armoire in the living room. Let's just say that I found part of my Nativity set on top of it... Ummm...

I didn't tell Chris that I was hiring her for these couple of weeks this month because I wanted to see if there really was a difference. Tonight he was THRILLED with the house. I even got him to add in next week and maybe another one so we can really make some headway. Maybe our creepy utility room, cold storage and half bath? It feels great.

Lastly, I think that my hair is headed for the chopping block. I haven't decided all of the way, especially with my xstepmom's wedding next weekend, but I'm very close to letting it go! I actually called and asked her permission and she about died laughing that I would even ask! She said that I can do my hair however I want. She's too cool!
