A Current Love Story

Here is a photo from Prom. It may come across as kind of odd, but we are a typical American Family. The gals in the middle are my x-stepmom and my mom, who absolutely love each other. On the far left is my dad's cousin(my second cousin) Teddy. Next to him is my ex-stepmom Gina. Then there is my mom, Tovi and my ex-stepdad Tom. Got that? Maybe you should read it again before we go on...

Years ago when Gina was married to my dad, their best friends as a couple were my second cousin Teddy and his wife Cathy. Cathy had MS and was in remission for a long time. Cathy died about 12 years ago from MS and breast cancer. Around that same time, my dad and Gina got divorced. When Gina started dating a few years later, she and Teddy began to see each other and actually got engaged. But months before the wedding, she started to have reservations and broke up with him. We were all sad, but we understood her concerns. Gina maybe dated 5 more times ever in the past decade.

Fast forward until last year. Teddy and Gina met up again at my dad's ranch while he was dying. After my dad died, Teddy's mom died. And then it seemed, Gina and Teddy were a couple for sure. Yeah! We were so happy for both of them and for us.

So, fast forward to this summer. Guess who is getting married? Yep, Teddy and Gina. So now Gina will now be my cousin in law. Or will Teddy be my ex-stepmom's husband? In all actuality, that is how it feels. Teddy has really stepped up for all of us kids in terms of fighting for my dad's estate with the TRAITOR and the W#ore. (For those of you that are new here, it's a crappy story!) He also comes to family dinners with all of us kids, comes to the grandkid's games just like our dad did. He won't let us pay when we are all out to eat. He loves us like family, because he is, but since he loves Gina, and treats us as his kids, not her ex's kids, it is such a blessing.

And guess who gets to be bride's maids? All of Gina's daughters which are myself, Landi, Laramee and Dallas. (We are the ones in the photo at my sister's graduation) She said, "I only want my daughters beside me." And my brother Chase and her dad are walking her down the aisle. I'm getting teary already!

That definitely sounds like true love to me -- they were meant to be!

Congrats to them, and to you for being in the wedding -- that will be fun!
