I subscribe to a daily Buddhist quote from Beliefnet.com. Here is one that I have kept in my inbox for a while and I wanted to put it here, so I can make sure that I don't lose it. (Thanks Becken!)
Calmed in body,
calmed in speech,
well-centered & calm,
having disgorged the baits of the world,
a monk is called
thoroughly
calmed.
-Dhammapada, 25, translated by Thanissaro Bhikkhu

I studied the Dhammapada and several Hindu texts with an Indian professor during my last semester of college. I wanted to graduate as soon as possible, so I took an extra course (21 credit hours!!!) as an independant study with this professor.
They were some of the most beautiful writings that I have ever read. I think I am a closet Hindu. Don't tell my mom. :)
Ohhhh... I'm going to pop over to Beliefnet and subscribe to that myself. This is such a wonderful passage. THANK YOU for sharing it today!
